by | Jul 6, 2026 | Home Buying, Home Selling, Market Update | 1 comment

The Brandon, MS real estate market continued its strong performance in June 2026, giving both buyers and sellers reasons to stay optimistic. Home sales increased compared to last June, average home prices continued to rise, and homes sold more quickly, even as inventory continued to grow.

Whether you’re thinking about buying, selling, or simply keeping an eye on the local market, here’s what the latest numbers mean for Brandon homeowners.

More Homes Are Hitting the Market

One of the biggest trends we’ve seen throughout 2026 is the continued increase in housing inventory.

Active listings increased from 319 homes in June 2025 to 356 homes in June 2026, an increase of nearly 12%.

Year-to-date, active listings have grown from 1,049 homes to 1,105 homes.

For buyers, that’s great news. More homes on the market means more choices and a better opportunity to find a home that fits your needs without feeling rushed.

For sellers, increased inventory also means buyers have more options. Pricing your home correctly and presenting it well from day one is becoming even more important.

Brandon Home Prices Continue to Increase

Despite the increase in available homes, property values remain strong.

The average sales price reached $342,659 in June 2026, up from $333,305 in June 2025.

Looking at the year-to-date numbers, the average sales price has increased from $320,225 to $344,300, representing an increase of approximately 7.5%.

For homeowners, that’s encouraging news. Continued appreciation means many sellers have built additional equity over the past year.

Homes Are Selling Faster

Another positive trend is the speed at which homes are selling.

The average days on market dropped from 61 days in June 2025 to 54 days in June 2026.

Year-to-date, average days on market have improved from 64 days to 59 days.

This tells us that well-priced homes continue to attract motivated buyers despite a growing number of listings.

Closed Sales Increase

Brandon also saw stronger sales activity this June.

A total of 109 homes sold in June 2026, compared to 91 homes during June 2025.

Year-to-date, 562 homes have sold, compared to 543 during the same period last year.

This is an encouraging sign that buyer demand remains healthy despite higher mortgage rates and increased inventory.

What This Means for Buyers

If you’re shopping for a home in Brandon, today’s market offers more opportunities than we’ve seen in recent years.

Current conditions include:

  • More homes available to choose from
  • Strong inventory growth
  • A little more flexibility during negotiations
  • Continued confidence in long-term home values

While desirable homes can still sell quickly, buyers generally have more options than they did just a few years ago.

What This Means for Sellers

If you’re considering selling your Brandon home, the market continues to work in your favor.

Home values remain strong, homes are selling faster than they were a year ago, and buyer demand remains healthy.

However, buyers are also becoming more selective. Sellers who experience the best results are typically those who:

  • Price their home accurately from the beginning
  • Complete minor repairs before listing
  • Invest in professional photography
  • Prepare their home to make a great first impression

The combination of rising prices and increased buyer activity continues to create excellent opportunities for homeowners who are ready to sell.
